P&M daycare has begun! We are off to a good start. The kids and I arrived at Jim's office just prior to 10:00 am (yes, we are slow movers in the morning). Jim met us at the parking ramp, the kids hopped out, and we were all off to our respective destinations. This is much different from past years, when I would take the kids into the building and reluctantly pry myself away from one or two clinging, crying children. Apparently, it was equally uneventful for Jim, who simply took them into the daycare area and delivered them to a table to draw.
To add further excitement, Bree has been potty training and went to daycare in her big girl underwear. With Jim's assistance, she went accident-free while there!
I was able to sneak off to East Lansing to enjoy a forever favorite lunch at El Azteco with a forever favorite friend. Then, it was back to GR to pick up Jim and kids. We were brave and doubled up on the daycare for the day by taking advantage of the "date night" program offered by the Y. But we had a couple of hours to kill before then. It was a nice day, so we stopped at the fish ladder and watched some fisherman in action on the river.
We then made our way to the public museum. We had our sights set on the carousel. But the famous (sort of) Meijer pony ride caught Drew's eye and needed to be indulged.

By chance, we happened to visit the museum on a free admission event day when many exhibitors were in attendance. So, we got to see a really cool drum corp perform and wander the museum a bit. And, of course, we rode the carousel twice, due to popular demand. All for free - what a treat!

Then, it was time for date night. The kids, with just a little hesitation from Bree, spent a few hours playing and doing arts and crafts at the Y.
Jim and I took to the mall, just the two of us (can't remember the last time that happened). After, we found a quick bite to eat. We arrived back at the Y to find the kids enjoying themselves and bearing nice valentines for Mom and Dad.
We've been slow to use any sort of daycare. But, all in all, I'd say our day was a success!
