6 Months

Hi All,
My babies are 6 months old. These are days when I wish I could stop the clock, or at least pause it just a little bit. It's a wonderful age, and sometimes I don't want it to end. But yet, we move forward with new milestones, new clothes, baby proofing, and there is probably a new car seat in our near future. And in case anyone is wondering, Drew is now 20 pounds and Bree is 16 1/2 pounds. A few words to my precious ones....

Bree - You are such a beautiful little girl. This week, Grandpa said you looked like a little china doll. We get so many comments about your beautiful eyes, something about the way you look at people is mesmerizing. There is a special sparkle in your eyes. You are my determined child. You have so much motivation for new things; right now it is crawling. You are not quite there yet, but it is not from lack of trying. You've got some great scoots across the carpet, and I know you'll be a pro in no time! You are an eager eater and like your highchair. Your latest little trick is an abundance of bubble blowing; it seems to be your favorite pastime! You are getting to be very mobile. You can roll your little body pretty much anywhere you want to be (and some places Mommy doesn't want you!). You like to look at Drew and grab him and yell in his ear. It's so cute. When you smile and laugh, it makes my heart happy.

Drew - You are still my patient one. Sometimes, I think you actually sense there is something more urgent going on around you, and you wait it out when necessary. You are so easygoing and enjoy everyone's company. You are also very good at entertaining yourself. Although, you love your toys. You are a huge fan of the jumperoo. You just get in there and do your thing - lots of smiles, hooting and hollering. It's so fun to watch. You may be the one with the musical talent in the family. Grandma says you like to sing along when she rocks you. Needless to say, you are a good eater! You are starting to hold your own bottle more and more. You have very good table manners in your highchair. You have mastered rolling in both directions (back to stomach and vice versa). But, you are very content to stay in one position and play with whatever is at hand. You are so quick to smile and laugh. You love tickles. I love seeing you laugh, because it is contagious.

I feel so blessed to have you! I love you very much!

Surprise! Mom is Turning 40!

As written by Drew and Bree:

Hi All! Boy, did we get Mommy this week. Mom has a big birthday coming up in September. She doesn't talk about it much, but Dad filled us in. So we and Daddy all decided it would be great fun to surprise Mommy with a little party to celebrate. And, we decided to do it a few weeks before her actual birthday, so that maybe she would not suspect. Aren't we sneaky?!? We cooked up a great plan. Aunties Carrie and Michelle invited Mom to a morning of brunch and some spa time on Sunday. Then, when she left, we had a team assembled to prepare for some friends to be here to wish Mom a happy birthday. Grandma and Grandpa, Oma and Opa, Aunt Sarah and Marc, Uncle Joe and Aunt Stacey, and Uncle Darren and Uncle Chad all pitched in. Grandma and Grandpa made some picture boards with pictures of Mom from age 0 - 40 (oops - we mean 39 11/12!) Oma made a cool candy bar board with neat sayings about getting older. Aunt Sarah and Marc did decorations and pudding "desserts". Oma and Opa brought cake and cookies. Dad ordered mexican food for lunch and made appetizers and drinks. Joe and Stacey brought their popcorn maker and served fresh popcorn and cotton candy. And everyone got to sign a book to give Mom words of wisdom.
We invited some friends and family that live locally, and also some of Mom's best friends from when she was "young" - haha! Due to a cell phone malfunction, the "surprise" entrance didn't really get off the ground. But, Mom sure was surprised anyway to come home to a yard full of guests and well-wishers. So, we all ate and drank and enjoyed the company. We got to sing Happy Birthday to Mom and also had a pinata shaped like the number "40". We are really starting to like this party scene. Next up is our birthday in another six months. Can't wait to get our hands on some cake!!!

Makin' A Splash

Hi All,
We got the kiddos out in the lake yesterday. They have dipped their toes in before, and Bree has taken a kayak ride with Daddy, and of course they've been on the pontoon several times. But yesterday, we really got them in the water. We think it got two thumbs up from Drew and Bree. Bree seemed quite comfortable and enjoyed kicking and splashing. And Drew, well he practically fell asleep floating on the water - too funny! Here are our little fishies........

Funsie Onesies

Hi All,

We got these onesies from dear friends and have been enjoying them all summer. Drew likes to wear his tuxedo on special occasions. Jim is quite fond of it. I'll have him dressed in something else and Jim will say "Can Drew wear his tux today?" I think Bree's bathing suit is quite a hoot too......

Where's the pool???

I'm too handsome for this crib.

Ready for fun!

Hi All,

Not a lot of organized thoughts today. I guess I'm a little tired. I just wanted to say I love my babies and their contagious smiles. Behold.......

Yes, Our Mom Does Exist

As written by Drew and Bree

Hi All,
We just wanted to mention that Mom is alive and well. We don't get to see her in many pics because she is the head photographer on staff here. Luckily, the professional photographer (a.k.a. Grandma) comes over and makes sure we get Mommy in the picture.

A few shots with Mommy....

And here we are with our professional photographer (Grandma)

Horsin Around

Hi All,

I've noticed the twins are really starting to interact with eachother as of late. Here are a few pictures of them at play. Bree is especially fond of grabbing Drew and yelling in his ear. Is this a sign of things to come??? Get used to it, Drew!
All Smiles

Not sure this boppy is big enough for the both of us....
Can you hear me now?!?
Whatever it is, we didn't do it.....
