Boy in the Box

Hi All,
For whatever reason, I often find Drew in the toy box. And it always makes me smile!

I think I recently mentioned that Bree is starting to allow barrettes and other things in her hair. Well, as you'll see below, it's still a little hit or miss.

Hiding.... Shhh! Don't tell Bree!

"Here I am!"

And here's Miss Shaggy, oops I mean Bree....

Little Wrestlers

Hi All,
Sometimes brotherly/sisterly love turns into a friendly rumble around here. Sometimes Drew comes out on top, and sometimes like this day, it's Bree. But one thing is for sure. It's always entertaining for the audience. :)

"She THINKS she has me pinned!"

"Oh, yes I do, and I would be correct!"

"I'll get her next time."

Consolation hug from the victor

"Ahh, my next victim..."

Fun At Our House

Hi All,
My mom and sister came to watch Drew and Bree while I went to a play with Jim. As I was reviewing my mom's pictures from the day, I noticed she got a lot of shots of some of  Drew and Bree's favorite activities around the house....

Strongman Drew pulling Bree in the wagon

The car - a single seater, but we make room for two!

The rocking horse

Playing with Riley at the gate

The swings - LOVE the swings, but not loving stopping to take a picture!

Cheesing it up for the camera

Little Miss AND Mister on the Mike

Hi All,
I posted a video of Bree singing on her microphone a while back. Well, I recently found this video from earlier this month, which is similar, but too cute to not share! Jim shot this video on a day I was out of town, as evidenced by the outfits the kiddos are wearing (CMU and Tigers). Bree is jammin' on the mike when Drew steps in and shoves his fist in her mouth. Well, then it appears she is either trying to kiss him or bite him. Any guesses as to which? Then Drew is free to "sing" or rather "blow" into the microphone as he sees fit. It makes me laugh every time I watch it!

PS - I am trying a new video setting, so please let me know if you have any problems accessing the video.

Jeans Diapers

Hi All,
Many of you have already seen these pictures on facebook. Huggies came out with a line of diapers that are designed to look like jeans, and we thought they were quite a hoot. Jim says he feels better about letting the kids run around in just diapers on hot summer days, since these are so stylish!

Diaper model Drew - workin' it

"You want me to strike a pose? Okay!"

"I'm irresistible, I know!"

Prettiest diaper model I've ever seen!

"I know you can't see my diaper, but I'm still adorable, aren't I ?!?"

"And how do you like me now?!?"

" A pose you say? I think this is how the big shots in New York do it!"

Tickle-toes

Hi All,
This is one of my favorite videos of Drew and Bree. Drew has learned how to tickle and likes to practice on all of us. Here, he is getting Bree and we are all getting a chuckle out of it! It always warms my heart to see them interact so nicely like this.....

Little Miss on the Mike and Chair Sharing

Hi All,
Here's some more video viewing for your entertainment....

This is Bree on the microphone (with a little help from Drew), refining her singing skills, or should I say "voice amplification" skills. Although, I think she is giggling more than anything else.

And this is Bree and Drew demonstrating how they like to share their chairs sometimes. And believe me, it isn't always this civil!

And one of Daddy and his babes, just because....

Dad Tickles

Hi All,
Are "Daddy Tickles" the best or what? Drew and Bree seem to think so!

Jumperdrew - The Swan Song

Hi All,
The time has come for Drew to retire the jumperoo.  Drew was so fond of the jumper, that we renamed it the jumperdrew. It provided countless hours of entertainment for the twins and allowed me to get a few other things done around the house. But I suppose all good things must come to an end, and this is no exception. Drew is closing in on 26 lbs. now (and getting taller, too), which exceeds the 25 lb. weight limit. But, of course, we needed a final performance before Drew hung up his jumping shoes. And Drew, we hate to tell you, but Bree can still legally use the jumperoo!

Here is Drew jumping, back in his "prime" :

And, the last hurrah. "Goodbye jumperdrew, I'll miss you!"  :

Spring is Coming

Hi All,
Well the weather is improving here in Michigan. We finally got outside this week for some stroller rides - yay! Sure is nice, as cabin fever was beginning to take hold. In other stroller news, Drew can now climb up into the stroller by himself. Both Drew and Bree are climbers, but more often than not, Drew is leading the way. Here are pictures of our fun from throughout the week.

Drew after climbing up into the stroller on his own - catch the devilish grin?

"Strolling outdoors again - woohoo!"

"I knew I could fit in this basket if I tried!"

"Dad tosses are awesome!"

Swing Practice

Hi All,
Drew and Bree received outdoor swings for their birthday from Oma and Opa. Drew's godfather Doug stopped by today and insisted we get in a practice swing. We're not quite ready to mount it outdoors, but this will do for now!

"Wheeee!!!!"

Household Helpers

Hi All,
Okay, I've mentioned before how helpful Drew and Bree are becoming around the house. But can someone please tell me......

When will Drew be pushing the vacuum instead of riding it?

And how about actually folding the laundry???

And, c'mon, does this count as organizing the cupboards?!?

More Chair Fun

Hi All,
The chair escapades continued........

Kicking back with the Sunday paper!

"Ahh, this is the life!"

"NOT planning to stand on here - I promise!"

Loungin'

Hi All!
Drew and Bree were given their own chairs as birthday gifts from Grandma and Grandpa. They actually arrived a few weeks before their birthday, and they have been enjoying them ever since. It did not take them long to figure out what kind of mischief they could cause with the chairs - you know, standing, standing backwards, standing backwards rocking!
You'll also notice Bree's Santa in most the pictures. It is her current lovey. He goes most places with her, and he absolutely must go to bed with her. She even feels he must sit in the high chair with her lately. They are inseparable! I have drawn the line with the bathtub. :)

"Let's try this out for size."

"It fits!"

"Think we'll kick back and watch a little Baby Einstein!"

"Now, if only I had my footstool - ahem, Bree."

"Hey Mom, it rocks more when we both sit in it!"

"And our other favorite seat - the stroller."

"Is it possible that standing up backwards is even more fun?!?"

"Yup!"

And just because we got a shot with Mom.....

Wagon Tales

Hi All,
You know Drew and Bree are big fans of the wagon (or anything on wheels). Well, this proves how comfortable they are on their wagon rides. While the front seat in the wagon is rear facing, Drew has figured out how to wiggle himself around (keeping in mind he is wearing a seat belt) to make it front facing. And, once he has accomplished that, apparently it's also possible to take a nice snooze!

"The view is much nicer this way!"

"This view's not bad either."

Survived

Hi All,
Well we all survived Drew and Bree's trip to P & M Daycare! Jim and the kiddos left the house at 8 am and I arrived at 12:30 to fetch them. I walked in on them happily playing with some of the toys, with good supervision. Jim said they didn't start out so happy, particularly Drew. But, I guess that is to be expected. Bree seemed content to get a wagon ride from one of the older kids.  Jim checked in them every 20 minutes or so, so it wasn't the most productive morning for him. By 11:30, they had both passed out - Bree in a bean bag and Drew in one of the provider's arms. In all, there were 10 kids in attendance, and Jim said they had 4 - 5 workers staffing the daycare. I was very impressed by this ratio. They seemed well organized and under control, and this was all on their first day of the season! While we probably won't take advantage of it every weekend, it's a very nice option to have. We also think it's good for Drew and Bree to get some interaction with other kids. Jim thinks they spent most of the time playing by themselves, but I'm sure that will change over time.

Hanging at P&M Daycare

In other news, today we watched the Superbowl - Colts vs. the Saints. Incidentally, the starring quarterbacks are DREW BREEs and Peyton MANNING, so we quipped over who to cheer for. Turns out the Saints won 31 - 17. The Saints are the Aints no longer!
Drew and Bree were not all that interested in the game. Instead, they enjoyed the latest rage around the house - laundry basket rides.....
Much more fun than football!

Laundry Basket Rides

"Hello and thank you to all my loyal fans!"

Hi All,
If you are getting the idea that Drew and Bree like to be pulled around, you are correct! The latest craze is none other than laundry basket rides. And Bree never misses a chance to give her now famous wave along the way!

"Umm, where is our chauffeur?"

"Enough pictures, time to get rollin' Mom!"

Push Toy Races

Hi All,
Drew and Bree sure love practicing their walking skills by using their push toys. Sometimes, they'll get going at the same time and it's quite humorous to watch them race around the room! In this clip, Drew is quite the fierce competitor. He nearly runs Bree over, but Bree still claims victory!
Oh, and if you think you see footballs, basketballs and soccer balls on Bree's sleeper, you are right. She is now wearing Drew's hand me downs!

Helpers

Hi All,
The twinners have been really helpful around the house lately. You know, things like......

Doing laundry

In the kitchen

Taking phone calls

Pushing the barstools back in place
