Accidents will Happen

Hi All,
It was a bit of a rough day for Miss Bree. I was in the kitchen trying out some new recipes. Note: I rarely make any requiring a cookbook, let alone when the kids are up. Well, sure enough, Bree headed for the pots and pans drawer and started moving some things around. We normally keep a child latch on it, but I didn't see too much harm in letting her play there with my direct supervision. In fact, I thought it would be a good diversion from her usual spot on my hip. Then, she dropped a pot, square on her big toe. She screamed in pain, and I immediately grabbed her to comfort her. I figured "no big deal", I would hold her until she stopped crying. Then I spotted the blood on the foot of her sleeper and got a little queasy myself. (I don't do well with blood, or injuries of any sort, really.) It took a while to calm her down. She let me put her in the tub just long enough to wash away some of the blood. It is black and blue, and she won't let me touch it or hold ice on it. Now we are watching and waiting to see what develops. Guess we are back to keeping the cabinets locked 24/7!
