At the Lake

Hi All,

We made our annual trip to my grandma's lake. For anyone that especially enjoys our pictures, this is the post for you! Our friends the Fergusons joined us again this year, and as always, we enjoyed their company. It was interesting to compare last year's trip to this one. Some things were easier, like the fact that the kids eat what we do for the most part and no more breastfeeding. But keeping them out of forbidden zones was difficult. They are very curious, and there are few limits to their mobility any more! But, we worked it out and were able to leave the quilt cottage pretty much the way we found it. Drew and Bree especially enjoyed roaming the basement this year. It is a big wide open space, and that is where the toys are stored. And, of course, we all enjoyed the lake and catching up with family and friends.

Road trip

Hi All,
Jim and I had an enjoyable weekend in the Chicago area. We visited the Giacomelli's to attend Connor's first communion. We also took a road trip up to Milwaukee to tour the brewery and catch the Cubs - Brewers game. The Miller brewery was quite impressive, and was highlighted with free samples at the end! Miller Park was equally impressive. I thought I dressed weather appropriate until we got there, and I realized it is a dome which was not retracted for the game. I wish I had more pictures of the weekend, but when I went to take my first picture with our new camera, it signaled "battery exhausted". (And this is the kind of battery that you can not readily buy; it must be recharged.)  Seriously?!? I was able to procure the picture below from Doug. Needless to say, Connor did great at communion and we had a good visit with the Giacomelli's.

Meanwhile, Drew and Bree were holding down the fort at home with Gramps and Gram, and surely having all sorts of fun. At least that's what the pictures indicate.....
